What changed for Wendy's Co today
Wendy’s Company reported first-quarter 2026 revenues of $540.6 million, net income of $22.7 million, and diluted earnings per share of $0.12, all for the three months ended 29 March 2026. Operating income clocked in at $64.9 million, while shareholders’ equity sat at just $115.6 million against liabilities of $4.81 billion, leaving the balance sheet looking thinner than a junior frosty left in the sun. Cash and equivalents stood at $298.7 million, and net cash from operations was $59.4 million, giving the company a modest liquidity buffer but not enough to paper over the $4.81 billion liability mountain.
Wendy’s describes itself as delivering “Fresh Famous Food, Made Right, For You,” with a menu of made-to-order square hamburgers, Spicy Chicken Sandwiches, nuggets, and now wraps in the UK. The product pages shout freshness and convenience-delivery partnerships promise beef delivered to your door-while the company’s own FAQ page gamely tries to explain what’s available for delivery and what isn’t. The website’s imagery is glossy, but the balance sheet is the real dish served up here: equity barely registers, and cash is positive but not heroic.
SEC filings show the latest 10-Q (period ending 29 March 2026) and the June 23 2026 press release announcing Steve Cirulis as chief, along with a raft of insider trades in late June and early July. The board’s Form 4 activity includes purchases at $20.75-$21.50, which looks tidy on paper but doesn’t change the fact that shareholders’ equity is still only $115.6 million. Inventory is a rounding error at $6.6 million, up $473,000 from the prior year, which is less “lean inventory” and more “where’s the beef?” The company’s own delivery and wraps pages are slick marketing tools, but the numbers beneath them are the real meal deal.
The SEC EDGAR rail provides the raw filings, and the company’s official sites show the product and FAQ pages that frame the brand promise. The filings and product pages are what they are; they do not prove a turnaround, a breakout, or a materially improved capital structure. What they do prove is a large liability stack, thin equity, modest cash generation, and a menu that reads better than the balance sheet feels.
Wendy’s operates in a competitive fast-food market with well-capitalised peers and shifting consumer habits. The evidence here shows a company executing on product marketing and supply-chain promises while its balance sheet remains the long pole in the tent. There is no chart rail supplied, so we refrain from inventing price levels or technical analysis. The file will strengthen when the next 10-Q or 8-K arrives with clearer segment detail, updated guidance, or a tangible capital structure move. Until then, the operating story is the marketing story, and the financial story is the equity story.

Methodology
This profile is generated daily from public sources including SEC EDGAR (US-listed companies), NASDAQ Trader files, exchange listings, public macro/central-bank releases, CoinGecko crypto market files where relevant, and the TradingView global symbol catalog. Multi-model AI may assist drafting and review where configured, but sources remain the evidence rail; the chart is an Atlas static OHLC rail with a live TradingView link when verified bars are available; otherwise the page keeps the verified TradingView route as an explicit fallback.
