What changed for United Fire Group Inc today
United Fire Group, Inc. is a regional property-casualty insurer whose public brochures show hard-hatted teams promising “flexible builder’s risk insurance and many other coverages” for inland marine risks, while the balance sheet quietly collects $369.4 million of revenue and $30.1 million of net income for the quarter ended 31 March 2026. The cash in the till stands at $162 million and operating cash flow is $56.6 million, figures that feel sturdy until you notice the company’s assets are $3.91 billion against $2.96 billion of liabilities, leaving equity at $950.6 million. Diluted EPS is $1.15 on 26.1 million shares. In other words, the marketing is wet-finger-in-the-air; the capital is solid but not spectacular.
What UFG actually sells are standardised small-business policies-property, liability, workers compensation, inland marine, and a businessowners policy that markets itself as “trustworthy” and “not complex.” The product pages are clean enough, the imagery is professional, and the positioning is straightforward: a one-stop shop for small commercial risks. Behind the scenes, however, the only thing growing is the actuarial ledger; the equity base and share count are unchanged since the last filing, and the inland marine flex story is selling a service while the balance sheet is counting the premiums.
For the quarter to 31 March 2026, the company reports $369.4 million of revenue, $30.1 million of net income attributable to parent, diluted EPS of $1.15 on 26.1 million shares, $162 million of cash and equivalents, $56.6 million of net cash from operating activities, and shareholders’ equity of $950.6 million. Liabilities are $2.96 billion against $3.91 billion of assets. There is no dividend declared in the filing and no share buyback disclosed for the period. The 11-K pension schedule confirms the defined-contribution plan covers regular employees who have at least one hour of service and have attained age 21. On 17 July 2026 UFG announced its second-quarter 2026 earnings release will follow the market close on 3 August 2026, giving the market two weeks to decide which narrative-product marketing or capital math-warrants the next headline.
The company does not publish a formal chart route in its newsroom, so the market must rely on third-party platforms for price and volume context. TradingView’s UFCS equity chart will show the standard daily candles and volume bars, but the chart itself is not an official UFG source and therefore carries no filing weight. The chart should be treated as market plumbing, not policy.
What changed: the 17 July 2026 press release sets the release date for 2 August results; the 10-Q to 31 March 2026 supplies the latest filed revenue, income, EPS, cash, and equity numbers; the 11-K confirms the defined-contribution plan’s scope and eligibility. What hasn’t changed: the share count, equity base, and absence of declared dividend or buyback remain the same as in the prior filing. What remains unproven: whether the inland marine flex narrative can translate into materially higher premium growth or margin expansion without an accompanying increase in equity or tangible book value per share. What would deepen the file: segment-level premium growth, loss ratios by line, reserve development commentary, and any disclosure of capital management actions in the next 10-Q or earnings release.

Methodology
This profile is generated daily from public sources including SEC EDGAR (US-listed companies), NASDAQ Trader files, exchange listings, public macro/central-bank releases, CoinGecko crypto market files where relevant, and the TradingView global symbol catalog. Multi-model AI may assist drafting and review where configured, but sources remain the evidence rail; the chart is an Atlas static OHLC rail with a live TradingView link when verified bars are available; otherwise the page keeps the verified TradingView route as an explicit fallback.
