What changed for Nortech Systems Inc today
Nortech Systems Inc. is a 30-year-old contract manufacturer that promises a "holistic approach" to product lifecycle management-from concept to product closeout-while assembling industrial PCBs with what it calls "timely delivery and cost-effective solutions." Its marketing site features Gantt charts, smiling engineers, and the assurance that teams "ensure research happens in the context of customer needs." The balance sheet, however, tells a quieter story: in the three months to March 31, 2026, Nortech burned $1.6 million in operating cash while its inventory rose by $2.6 million to $23.6 million. That’s a lot of boards in the works, but not much cash left to pay for them.
Behind the glossy product pages, Nortech’s Q1 2026 filing shows a company that moved products between its Blue Earth and Bemidji facilities last year, received customer approvals for the transfer, and still managed a net loss of $34,000 on revenue of $11.8 million. Its medical customers, which the company says grew 10.4% in revenue year-over-year, contributed to the top line-but not enough to cover the $310,000 spent on R&D or the $228,000 ploughed into new gear. The polished pitch of "complex electromedical devices" and "electromechanical systems" sits uneasily beside a balance sheet that holds just $2 million in cash against $41.9 million in liabilities.
Nortech’s latest 10-K/A filing boasts of "design and manufacturing solutions for complex electromedical devices," yet the same document admits dependence on creaky IT systems for order, inventory procurement, and production management. The company’s website, meanwhile, promises "timely delivery and cost-effective solutions" for industrial PCB assemblies, a claim that sits uneasily beside a $23.6 million inventory pile and a $1.6 million operating cash burn. If the goal was to project an aura of competence, the numbers are doing push-ups in the opposite direction.
The company’s latest filings also reveal that certain customers individually represented 10% or more of net sales or accounts receivable balances in the period, underscoring its concentration risk. Net sales to medical customers rose $841, or 10.4%, in the three months ended March 31, 2026 compared with the same period a year earlier, but the company’s overall revenue of $11.8 million in the quarter left little margin for error. Inventory, now at $23.6 million, grew by $2.6 million during the quarter, while cash and cash equivalents sat at $2 million. Operating cash flow was negative $1.6 million, and the company’s diluted loss per share was $0.01 on 2.8 million shares outstanding. Assets totalled $76.6 million against liabilities of $41.9 million, leaving shareholders’ equity at $34.7 million.
For context on the company’s service offerings, see Nortech’s product pages for Product Lifecycle Management Services and Industrial PCB Assembly Solutions. These pages describe a company that coordinates resources from concept to post-market support, but the balance sheet describes a company that is still paying for last quarter’s inventory with this quarter’s cash.
If you’re looking for a chart route, the SEC filings do not provide one, and FreedomCore’s renderer carries the company’s own evidence rather than invented levels. The tension here is not a valuation commentary but the gap between the polished platform story and the balance sheet that collected it.

Methodology
This profile is generated daily from public sources including SEC EDGAR (US-listed companies), NASDAQ Trader files, exchange listings, public macro/central-bank releases, CoinGecko crypto market files where relevant, and the TradingView global symbol catalog. Multi-model AI may assist drafting and review where configured, but sources remain the evidence rail; the chart is an Atlas static OHLC rail with a live TradingView link when verified bars are available; otherwise the page keeps the verified TradingView route as an explicit fallback.
