What changed for Mirum Pharmaceuticals, Inc. today
Rare-disease theatre meets balance-sheet reality at Mirum Pharmaceuticals this week. The company’s 10-Q for the quarter ending 31 March 2026 shows net product sales of $159.9 million but a net loss of $790.2 million, because turning orphan drugs into operating profit is still a work of fiction. Diluted EPS clocked in at -$13.43 on 58.9 million shares, while operating cash used hit $228.8 million. Cash on the balance sheet stood at $324.9 million, with $61.4 million in short-term investments that do not cover the burn rate if the next FDA interaction turns into another trial request.
Mirum calls itself a “leading rare disease company with a global footprint of approved products and a broad pipeline,” yet the 10-Q also reveals a $3.6 million liability for cash received in advance of estimated net product sales and no contract assets at all. Inventory crept up by $1.9 million to $25.5 million, which could be prudent stock-piling or wishful thinking about near-term approvals. Meanwhile, the compensation committee awarded 6,300 stock options and 9,300 restricted stock units on 10 July 2026, and 10,100 options on 10 June, as if the company needed another reason to dilute shareholders while it waits for the market to validate its pipeline.
The only green shoots in the evidence are positive Phase 2 results from the PROGRESS study of zilurgisertib in fibrodysplasia ossificans progressiva, announced by Mirum and Incyte on 1 July 2026. But green shoots do not pay the legal bills or fund the next tranche of convertible notes; they merely buy time. Mirum’s 10-Q also discloses that no single customer supplied more than 10% of sales in either the latest quarter or the same period last year, so revenue is broad but thin-another sign that the company is still searching for the blockbuster it keeps promising.
For context, Mirum filed two Form 144 notices on 6 July 2026, a disclosure category usually associated with insiders contemplating liquidity rather than a firm confidently scaling commercial operations. The company’s cash and short-term investments total $386.3 million, while total liabilities stand at $648.4 million, leaving equity at $242.5 million-numbers that underscore the gap between the polished slide deck and the balance sheet’s raw arithmetic. If the next catalyst is regulatory approval, the math changes; until then, the company is running on narrative and NQSOs.
The SEC EDGAR submission index for Mirum Pharmaceuticals lists 28 filings so far in 2026, including quarterly reports, 8-Ks, and convertible-note documents, but none of the filings change the fundamental tension: cash outflow exceeded cash inflow by $228.8 million in the latest quarter, and the company has yet to demonstrate a repeatable path to profitability. The evidence we have is real; the story the company tells is still aspirational.
On the charts, Mirum’s equity price is not supplied in the evidence, so we can neither confirm nor challenge recent moves. The only official market source we have is the SEC filing ecosystem and the company’s own investor-relations site; anything beyond that is outside the rail.
The file’s strongest fact is the $790.2 million net loss against $159.9 million in sales; the sharpest tension is the $386.3 million in liquid resources against $648.4 million in liabilities. Everything else-the inducement grants, the Form 144s, the advance-cash liability, the inventory build-are downstream of that imbalance. Mirum’s next meaningful inflection is regulatory or M&A, not another PowerPoint.

Methodology
This profile is generated daily from public sources including SEC EDGAR (US-listed companies), NASDAQ Trader files, exchange listings, public macro/central-bank releases, CoinGecko crypto market files where relevant, and the TradingView global symbol catalog. Multi-model AI may assist drafting and review where configured, but sources remain the evidence rail; the chart is an Atlas static OHLC rail with a live TradingView link when verified bars are available; otherwise the page keeps the verified TradingView route as an explicit fallback.
