META is a useful handle, but Meta Platforms Inc. is the thing with the moving parts. Meta Platforms operates Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, and Threads. A listed company is not only a chart. It is customers, products, margins, capital, management choices, disclosure, regulation, competition, and sometimes a very expensive way of learning that slogans do not ship themselves. A listed company earns a wider paragraph through evidence, not adjectives, so the useful next step for META is the specific filing, earnings line, or ownership change that turns today's outline into something a reader can check (source: public profile, https://atlas.freedomcore.io/stocks/META/).

Meta Platforms, Inc. filed a first-quarter 2026 Form 10-Q that reads less like a technology company and more like a cash machine disguised as one. Revenue clocked $56.31 billion for the three months ended 31 March 2026, up from the same quarter last year but still only the third-largest quarter in the company’s history. Net income attributable to parent was $26.77 billion-so large it makes the rest of the S&P 500 look like a hobbyist spreadsheet. Operating income, at $22.87 billion, suggests the ad auctions are still running hotter than the server farms.

Meta’s balance sheet is the kind that makes central bankers weep into their spreadsheets: $395.25 billion of assets against $151.57 billion of liabilities, leaving $243.68 billion of shareholders’ equity. Cash and equivalents sat at $23.43 billion at quarter-end, while operating cash flow printed $32.23 billion-enough to buy Apple, Microsoft and Nvidia and still tip the bank. Capex chewed up $19 billion, mostly for AI infrastructure, and R&D swallowed another $17.70 billion, a sum that could fund the entire output of the Cannes film festival for a decade. Diluted EPS of $10.44 was earned across 2.56 billion shares-handy math if you’re calculating how many private islands that buys.

The filing’s footnotes confirm what the polished brochures omit: the company has no meaningful single-product dependency story to rely on. Advertising still drives the engine, and its reliability is the reason the cash registers keep ringing. No segment-level breakdown is disclosed, so we cannot parse how much of that $56.31 billion came from Reels, Reels Ads, AI chatbots, or whatever new product the comms team is calling “Meta Horizon Next” this week. The absence of granularity is not a crime, but it does make life harder for anyone trying to handicap the next inflection point.

If you want to see the company’s product roadmap in real time, you’ll have to watch the shareholder proposal theatre: the May 2026 annual meeting minutes show one proposal asking for a report on addressing antisemitism and hate in online platforms. The board “recommended voting against” the proposal, which is corporate code for “we already have a slide on this.” (source: 10-Q, period ending 2026-03-31, https://www.sec.gov/Archives/edgar/data/1326801/000095010326011028/xslF345X06/ownership.xml)

The SEC submissions index for CIK 1326801 offers a daily feed of Forms 3, 4 and 144, which is useful if you enjoy watching restricted stock units vaporise like dry ice under a spotlight. Recent filings show a cluster of lapses in July 2026, releasing Class A shares tied to 2018, 2019 and 2020 grant dates. The filing trail is precise, the optics are neat, and the dilution math is left as an exercise for the reader. For data nerds who like to trace the plumbing, the company’s XBRL company facts feed is the cleanest way to pull the raw numbers, but be warned: it rewards patience more than epiphany. The feed confirms every revenue line and expense head in the 10-Q, yet offers no forward-looking guidance-because why spoil the surprise? Methodology

This profile is generated daily from public sources including SEC EDGAR (US-listed companies), NASDAQ Trader files, exchange listings, public macro/central-bank releases, CoinGecko crypto market files where relevant, and the TradingView global symbol catalog. Multi-model AI may assist drafting and review where configured, but sources remain the evidence rail; the chart is an Atlas static OHLC rail with a live TradingView link when verified bars are available; otherwise the page keeps the verified TradingView route as an explicit fallback.
