What changed for Krystal Biotech, Inc. today
Krystal Biotech’s first-quarter 2026 filing shows VYJUVEK gene therapy banked $116.4 million in net revenue, a 32% year-on-year lift that lets the company claim momentum in a rare-disease corner where most peers still chase approvals. The balance sheet looks tidy: $501.3 million in cash, $1.28 billion in shareholders’ equity, and just $120.2 million of liabilities, a figure that includes $42.6 million of inventory sitting in warehouses and clinics.
What Krystal actually sells is VYJUVEK (beremagene geperpavec-svdt), an FDA-approved topical gene therapy for dystrophic epidermolysis bullosa, a condition so painful sufferers call it “touch-me-not skin.” The treatment works by delivering a corrected COL7A1 gene via an engineered, replication-deficient herpes simplex virus-1 vector, a platform Krystal calls “redosable” because the vector can theoretically be re-administered without igniting the immune system that usually fences off viral vectors after a single dose. The company also sells patient-support services through Krystal Connect, a commercial arm that handles reimbursement and logistics so doctors don’t have to.
The numbers are real: $116.4 million of product revenue in Q1 2026, up from $88.2 million a year earlier, with operating income of $53.7 million and net income of $55.9 million for the same period. Research and development still cost $15.3 million, while property, plant and equipment outlays ran $7.1 million. Diluted EPS clocked in at $1.83 on 30.5 million weighted shares. Cash from operations hit $80.4 million, giving the company breathing room even as it keeps ploughing cash into its HSV-1 platform and dermatology pipeline.
The company’s pipeline page lists Jeune Aesthetics, a wholly owned subsidiary, alongside multiple redosable gene-therapy candidates aimed at genetic, life-threatening or rare diseases. Yet the same platform page quietly concedes that the HSV-1 vector has a “large payload capacity,” a feature that sounds useful until you wonder why only one product has reached the market so far. The product page confirms VYJUVEK’s FDA approval and its patient-support programme, but neither page discloses how many vials shipped, how many patients were treated, or how durable the gene correction proves beyond the clinical-trial horizon.
What changed in the last month: on 21 July 2026, Krystal filed an 8-K noting nothing more dramatic than a routine update to its shelf-registration programme, a filing that mostly signals the company is keeping its financing cupboard stocked while it figures out the next step for pipeline assets. Earlier filings in June show insiders selling shares worth millions through 144 and Form 4 windows, a reminder that when the platform hype is loud, the exit doors are often louder. The company’s SEC submissions JSON confirms the 8-K, 144 and Form 4 trail, but the filings contain no revenue detail beyond the 10-Q, no new trial initiations, and no guidance update-just the same promise that “development milestones strengthen the regulatory dataset.”
What remains unproven: Krystal has yet to file an 8-K that ties platform designation to a concrete regulatory or commercial milestone, and the pipeline page offers no timelines for Jeune Aesthetics or the other redosable programmes. Investors still do not know whether the HSV-1 vector can be redosed in real patients, how durable the gene correction lasts, or what proportion of the $42.6 million inventory will ever turn over. The company’s cash pile is healthy, but healthy cash does not guarantee durable revenue if the next product is still years from approval and the first one is already on the market.
Where to go for more: the company’s product and pipeline pages give the public story, while the 10-Q and SEC submissions JSON provide the numbers. For deeper colour on the HSV-1 platform and its payload claims, the technology page is the only source supplied. Everything else-market chatter, analyst notes, valuation commentary-is absent from the evidence rail.

Methodology
This profile is generated daily from public sources including SEC EDGAR (US-listed companies), NASDAQ Trader files, exchange listings, public macro/central-bank releases, CoinGecko crypto market files where relevant, and the TradingView global symbol catalog. Multi-model AI may assist drafting and review where configured, but sources remain the evidence rail; the chart is an Atlas static OHLC rail with a live TradingView link when verified bars are available; otherwise the page keeps the verified TradingView route as an explicit fallback.
