Kalaris describes itself as a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company focused on treatments for prevalent retinal diseases with major unmet needs. Its lead programme, TH103, is an intravitreal therapy designed to address neovascular AMD, a leading cause of blindness in older adults. The company’s public materials emphasise the therapeutic promise of TH103, yet the filings show no revenue, no marketed product, and only a pipeline still in early human testing. The tension between the promise on the website and the cash-flow reality in the 10-Q is the story, not the science fiction.

Kalaris’ latest 10-Q for the quarter ended 31 March 2026 reports a net loss attributable to the parent of $10.9 million, an operating loss of $11.8 million, and a negative operating cash flow of $11.6 million. Diluted earnings per share came in at -$0.46 on 23.7 million diluted shares. The balance sheet lists total assets of $109.8 million, of which $34.4 million is cash and $62.8 million is short-term investments, versus liabilities of $41.2 million. Plant, property and equipment additions were a modest $200,000 in the prior year, while research and development expense hit $7.6 million in the latest quarter. Stockholders’ equity attributable to the parent stood at $68.6 million-comforting only until you remember the liabilities stacked above it and the red ink flowing below.

For a company whose public story pivots on retinal science, Kalaris offers no clinical-trial revenue line, no product revenue line, and no guidance for regulatory or commercial milestones. The only numbers that move the needle are the burn-rate, the cash runway, and the insider trading disclosures. The SEC filings are the primary source of truth here; the polished product page and press releases supply colour but no cash.

Kalaris’ ownership disclosures filed on 20 July 2026 show insiders continuing to trim exposure via open-market sales, a pattern that sits uneasily beside the $2.5 million share award granted to executives in the same period. The optics are not improved by the fact that the company’s own 10-Q admits it is not yet generating cash from operations and is reliant on its investment portfolio to keep the lights on. The market can price hope, but the EDGAR filings price the cash.

Kalaris’ Phase 1a results for TH103 in treatment-naïve neovascular AMD were released as “additional data” on its official site earlier this year, but the site provides no numerical disclosures beyond a generic statement. The July 17 press release repeats the cautious phrasing that any efficacy or safety conclusions remain premature. In other words, the public rails show product-stage narrative without product-stage proof. The gap between the website’s imagery of a retinal breakthrough and the 10-Q’s reality of a cash-burning clinical shop is the only fact that matters today.
