What changed for FT Vest U.S. Equity Buffer ETF - June today
FT Vest’s FJUN is the June expiry edition of a US equity buffer ETF that promises capped downside over the June cycle while letting you ride the upside-at least, in theory. The Nasdaq listing confirms FJUN is a buffer ETF tied to the June options cycle, but it does not explain why a plain S&P 500 ETF at 0.04% cannot do the same work for a fraction of the cost. The fund’s identity is clear from the Nasdaq ticker page, yet the page itself is a digital brochure that never confronts the central tension: you are paying 0.79% a year for a wrapper around assets you could hold directly.
The fund’s mandate is explicit on the SEC EDGAR filing: it seeks to provide buffered returns relative to the S&P 500 between now and the June expiry while capping losses at 10%. That sounds generous, but the filing does not disclose the fund’s assets under management, so we do not know how much liquidity the wrapper commands. The SEC page confirms the mandate and structure, but it does not prove the buffer actually works when volatility arrives. The issuer markets a “defined outcome” narrative, yet the underlying basket is just large-cap US equities-assets you can own without a June expiry or a 0.79% toll.
The FINRA Fund Analyzer shows the expense ratio is 0.79% and that the fee is applied daily, regardless of whether the market rises, falls, or naps. The tool does not tell us how the buffer behaves in stress, nor does it disclose the fund’s AUM, so the practical question remains unanswered: is the buffer worth 79bps when a plain vanilla ETF does the same job at a penny-pincher’s price? The issuer’s filings and Nasdaq listing establish what FJUN is, but they do not establish that it is necessary.
The fund trades on Nasdaq under the ticker FJUN, where you can see daily volume and spreads like any other listed ETF. The Nasdaq page does not, however, display the fund’s holdings or the options overlay mechanics, so we cannot verify how the buffer is constructed or priced. The SEC filing confirms the mandate, and FINRA confirms the fee, but neither source shows the buffer’s realised performance versus the S&P 500 over prior cycles. Without that evidence, the wrapper’s value proposition rests on issuer claims rather than public data.
What we know for certain is the cost: 0.79% a year, every day, for a basket of large-cap US equities you could buy directly. What we do not know is whether the buffer actually buffers or merely charges you to watch the same chart you can pull up on your phone. The Nasdaq ticker page proves FJUN exists and trades; the SEC filing proves its mandate; FINRA proves the fee. That is the full extent of the public record on 26 July 2026.

Methodology
This profile is generated daily from public sources including SEC EDGAR (US-listed companies), NASDAQ Trader files, exchange listings, public macro/central-bank releases, CoinGecko crypto market files where relevant, and the TradingView global symbol catalog. Multi-model AI may assist drafting and review where configured, but sources remain the evidence rail; the chart is an Atlas static OHLC rail with a live TradingView link when verified bars are available; otherwise the page keeps the verified TradingView route as an explicit fallback.
