What changed for Charter Communications, Inc. /Mo/ today
Charter Communications’ latest quarter is the kind of filing that makes wallpaper look restless. The 10-Q for 30 June 2026 shows $13.53 billion in revenues, $1.29 billion in net income, and diluted EPS of $10.66. The company’s own documents quietly admit $251 million of costs were parked inside programmer streaming applications last quarter, which is less ‘customer empowerment’ and more ‘line-item sleight-of-hand.’
What Charter actually sells is broadband, video, voice, and enterprise connectivity under the Spectrum brand, marketed as ‘fast and secure’ while its filings quietly reveal the real engine is cash collection. The company’s customer relationships grew by 942,000 in the period covered by the 11-K, revenue rose 4.9%, and Adjusted EBITDA climbed 5.0%. Either the growth is real or the pension plan has become the only part of Charter that trusts arithmetic. The same 11-K helpfully notes that Live Nation bought $2.1 million of Spectrum services in 2018, proving even rock concerts need WiFi and that Spectrum’s enterprise division has at least one marquee reference client.
The quarter’s headline numbers are strong but the fine print tells the clearer story. Operating income clocked in at $3.06 billion on assets of $155.62 billion, while stockholders’ equity sat at $16.95 billion. Cash and equivalents were a lean $509 million against $8.23 billion of operating cash flow-impressive liquidity, yet the company still spent $5.73 billion on property, plant, and equipment in the same quarter. That’s not a cash machine; it’s a cash reloader. EPS of $10.66 on 121.3 million diluted shares is the cleanest number in the pack, but the press release’s promise to ‘save customers money’ while ‘driving shareholder value’ reads like a polite fiction when set against the capex binge and the streaming cost shuffle.
The company’s Spectrum Invincible WiFi 7 router-launched in February 2026-may keep customers connected during outages, but it won’t keep analysts from noticing that $251 million of costs vanished into the video line item last quarter. The filing index is exhaustive, the tone is reassuring, and the operating reality is a balance sheet that keeps working while the marketing keeps smiling. Charter’s own homepage still frames its mission as ‘empowering superior communication’ for customers, but the latest filings show a company that powers itself first. The customer commitment is real; the optics are polished; the cash is tangible. If you want to know where the value sits, follow the cash flow, not the marketing blurb. Methodology
This profile is generated daily from public sources including SEC EDGAR (US-listed companies), NASDAQ Trader files, exchange listings, public macro/central-bank releases, CoinGecko crypto market files where relevant, and the TradingView global symbol catalog. Multi-model AI may assist drafting and review where configured, but sources remain the evidence rail; the chart is an Atlas static OHLC rail with a live TradingView link when verified bars are available; otherwise the page keeps the verified TradingView route as an explicit fallback.
